Jan. 27, 2021

Show notes

New York Penn Station’s Moynihan Train Hall opened on New Year’s Day nearly thirty years after it was first proposed by Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Alexandros Washburn worked closely with the senator to conceive his vision, before later serving as the city’s chief urban designer. He joins us on threesixtyCITY to share his personal history of the struggle to redeem Penn Station, and to discuss the mixed-use “model block” proposed by his current firm, DRAW, as an example of post-pandemic development.
